Counseling


The Women's Resource Center is dedicated to serving the needs of individuals and families who may be threatened or victimized by domestic violence and sexual assault.

Individual and Group Counseling Services

Individual and group counseling is offered at various times Monday through Saturday. For more information call between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. Ask to speak with a caseworker.

Individual Counseling

For individuals, families or children who are currently in, or have been in, or have witnessed a domestic violence relationship. Also for individuals who have been a victim of sexual assault or molested as a child, and their significant others. Individual counseling is offered in both English and Spanish.

Women in Transition

This is an on-going support group for women, focusing on the cycle of domestic violence, letting go of anger, self-love, self-esteem, setting boundaries and maintaining independence.

Parenting Class

Focuses on basic child development skills as well as parenting high-risk children. Topics are communication, self-esteem, skills to assist parents with issues of domestic violence, abuse, substance abuse, death, loss, sexuality and other sensitive issues. Court ordered O.K.

Adults Molested as Children Support Group

Focuses on prior molestation issues and how these currently impact relationships and coping skills, in addition to the issues of lack of trust, feelings of powerlessness, boundaries and self-esteem.

Sexual Assault Support Group

Provides a safe place for women to discuss their emotions and feelings, learn coping skills and process issues relating to a rape or sexual assault.

Children's Group

For children who have experienced domestic violence. Individual counseling for children also available.

Family Violence Intervention Program (FVIP)

An intensive 52-week counseling program for men and women who have difficulty controlling their anger toward their spouse, significant other, and/or children. These groups are offered in both English and Spanish.
