It is critical that all volunteers rendering  assistance to victims of domestic violence or sexual abuse do so with the knowledge and confidence that their interactions are confidential and protected. Volunteers will attend a personal conference with the Volunteer Coordinator before their training. During this conference, concerns and potential problems as well as personal history will be the topics of discussion. Specific training will be provided to the volunteers by WRC staff according to the tasks they will be undertaking.

Volunteers working in direct contact with clients must attend our DV/SA Crisis Intervention Training, and will be required to pay $34.00 for a criminal background check. Volunteers must be 18 and over. Volunteers are required to commit to 9 months of volunteering after training. Potential volunteers will meet with the Volunteer Coordinator for an interview after the application has been submitted for review. The application can be found here.
