DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ADVOCACY OVERVIEW
WRC provides encouragement and support for survivors of domestic violence through advocacy. Advocacy can involve accompanying a survivor to a court date for a restraining order, divorce hearing, or criminal case against abuser. This may also include supporting survivors with referral and follow up with other agencies for services or facilitating compliance for example the District Attorney’s Office, Victims of Crime Fund, Safe at Home, or CPS.
If you are in need of an advocate, please call and speak to a Case Manager.
NORTH COUNTY HIGH RISK TEAM
WRC provides advocates to the North County High Risk Team. The North County High Risk Case Response Team (North county HRT) is an action-oriented multidisciplinary team that collaborates to increase survivor safety and perpetrator accountability in cases where victims are at high risk for lethality due to intimate partner violence. Established in 2012 by the San Diego County District Attorney (SDCDA), The North County HRT brings multiple disciplines together to identify high risk survivors, share information and strategize on individual intervention plans. The North County HRT serves all of North County, including the cities of Escondido, Vista, San Marcos , Oceanside, Poway, Carlsbad, Fallbrook, and Encinitas.
