The Spirit of Giving has been a part of WRC for over ten years and continues to be one of our most meaningful traditions. This cherished event is centered around the children and families we serve, ensuring they have joyful, lasting holiday memories.
Each year, we distribute gifts to families in our programs to help make the holidays a little brighter. Last year (2024), thanks to our incredible community, we served 160 families and over 430 children; giving out more than 1,300 gifts!
In 2025, the Spirit of Giving will take place on Sunday, December 14th, 2025. With the support of our generous donors, WRC is on track to serve over 160 families this year, providing them with everything needed to celebrate the holidays.
Parents will be able to select three new toys for each child, which are then beautifully wrapped by our amazing volunteers. For the teens, we provide a $25 Target gift card and two curated items from our teen gift room. Each family also receives a $50 grocery store gift card to purchase items for a holiday dinner and breakfast.
For the children, the Spirit of Giving is like stepping into a winter wonderland. While parents shop, children enjoy their own holiday celebration; complete with crafts, games, goodies, and a visit with Santa. They also get to visit our children’s gift room, where they thoughtfully select a special, wrapped gift for their parents.
This event brings smiles, gratitude, and a sense of magic to families who otherwise may not be able to celebrate the season. We’re so thankful to everyone who helps make it possible.
