In 1974, five Oceanside women founded the Women’s Resource Center to provide safety and support to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. This year the Magical Evening celebrates WRC for 50 years of service in our community, and honors Colleen O’Harra, a WRC founder and Director Emeritus, with the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award for her dedication to advancing WRC’s mission.
The Magical Evening is WRC’s flagship fundraising event. The campaign kicks off in July and culminates in the celebration of WRC’s Golden Anniversary on October 12, 2024, at the Oceanside Museum of Art.
Domestic violence remains a serious and daunting public health problem. Nationwide, twenty-four people are victims of physical violence, rape, or stalking by an intimate partner each minute of the day. Your contributions help to fund lifesaving and life-changing programs administered by WRC.
